PSW Job Tips – Tip #1 First-Aid and CPR
I’ve hand updated PSW Jobs for about a month and a half and I’ve begun to notice a few trends. We’ll take a brief look at each in this series of article entitled PSW Job Tips.
Tip #1
Get your first-aid and CPR! In almost every single job ad that I see first-aid and CPR are a requirement. Don’t take yourself out of the market by not having these easy to obtain course accreditations.
The Canadian Red Cross offers combination First-Aid & CPR courses. I would recommend taking the Emergency First-Aid & CPR course. It’s considered a step up from a basic first-aid course. The emergency course is short (6.5 – 8 hours) and is usually completed in one or two days, depending on your schedule. Completion of the course will earn you a certificate that is valid for three years.
If you don’t have emergency first-aid take the short time to complete the course .It will greatly improve your chances at obtaining employment in the personal support worker field.
