Job Description

Employer: Kawartha Participation Projects

Title: Personal care attendant – home care [Independent Living Attendant]

Hours of work: Permanent, Part-time, relief/ as per Collective Agreement

Salary: 15.14 hourly; incremental increases as per Collective Agreement; Mileage Paid; Pension Plan Benefits

Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible

Location: Peterborough, Northumberland County (Cobourg area), and the City of Kawartha Lakes

 

Skill Requirements

Education:  Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training or equivalency in experience

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.):  First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Type of Clientele: Persons with a disability

Specific Skills: Provide personal care

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, willing to travel regularly, Valid driver’s license, Travel expenses paid by employer

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, physically demanding

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check (valid within 9 months), Tuberculosis test (valid within 1 year)

Essential Skills: Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing
