Job Description

Part-time Attendant Care Worker (PSW)  

 

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team reporting to the Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting clients with the activities of daily living and personal care according to client’s Attendant Services Agreement.  Your primary goal will be to promote dignity, independence and health & safety of the client.  Attendant Care Workers must be able to adapt to varying degrees of client requirements.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to client oral care, foot care, bowel and bladder care, bathing/showering, dressing and undressing, meal planning and preparation, feeding, laundry, light housekeeping, assisting with prescribed therapies such as speech, physiotherapy, administering of medications, community outings, transferring, turning and repositioning of client, and charting.

 

Requirements:

·        Secondary School graduate

·        Personal Support Worker certificate preferred

·        Experience providing personal care to individuals with disabilities

·        Commitment to service excellence required

·        Flexibility and dependability

·        Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral English)

·        Criminal Record Check

·        Current CPR/First Aid Level C

·        TB Skin Test

·        Reliable transportation

·        Experience with ABI an asset
